While I’m totally psyched that Catching Fire finally managed to cast itself and get down to Atlanta to start filming, I’m a little weirded out that I had to read about it online. It’s not like Jennifer Lawrence has to like take me to brunch and tell me about her weekend before casually mentioning that she would be going all Katniss Everdeen on me for a few months.
But after you obsessively write about someone for months on end you expect a call. Or at least a text. I would have even settled for being bcc-ed on an email from her assistant letting me know the best way to reach her in Atlanta. Anything would be better than reading about it online. Like some kind of normal person who puts her skorts on one leg at a time.
However, I am happy they got their act together and cast Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair so filming could start. I don’t know why they held out on us like that. Sure, I’m a little peeved that no one even considered my Danny DeVito suggestion, but I’ve agreed with my Danny DeVito For Finnick Odair fan club that it’s time to move on and accept the casting decision. I’m sure it will work out fine. Even if Danny DeVito would have brought something a little bit different to the role, something that would make audiences around the country go, “why is Matilda’s father playing a twenty-something heartthrob.”
Oddly enough, I suppose that’s not what the producers had in mind for that role.
Of course, anything could still happen. As far as we know the only two stars spotted in Atlanta are Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson. (Known in my heart forever and ever as Peenis.) No one else from the Catching Fire cast got caught walking around town and murdering people in an attempt to get into the role. So producers could still make last minute changes.
I’m also not sure when Liam Hemsworth will be arriving since Miley Cyrus is making him stop at every hair salon between Philadelphia and Atlanta so she can have drastic haircut in every single state on the East Coast.
All I know for sure is that if anyone wants to spend their day calling Atlanta hotels in search of Jennifer Lawrence, that would be greatly appreciated.
P.S – I don’t want to mislead everyone. This photo is NOT from my Yogalates sesh with J.Law.
