Zayn Malik Should’ve Asked Harry Styles For Advice On Dealing With Haters Before Deleting His Twitter

Zayn Malik quit Twitter cheat haters Harry StylesOne Direction has promised a big announcement tomorrow night (August 23rd), but two days early we get the frustrating news that band member Zayn Malik has quit Twitter. His final messages on his social media profile blamed “haters” whose harassment he got sick and tired of fighting:

The reason I don’t tweet as much as i use to, is because I’m sick of all the useless opinions and hate that i get daily goodbye twitter

my fans that have something nice to say can tweet me on the one direction account. :) x

It’s not surprising that Zayn snapped; lately he’s been accused of cheating on his girlfriend Perrie Edwards, as a video from Perez Hilton alleges. Through some social network sleuthing, The Mirror learned that he simply couldn’t handle the negative rumors about him cheating or smoking weed. Again, I don’t know if any of these rumors are actually true, so it could be a case of “the guilty flee.” But imagine that scrutiny and fans just assuming that you’re not behaving the way their dream version of you acts, and they have the license to tell you everything you’re doing wrong? I wouldn’t be able to handle that. Of course, many Directioners have come to Zayn’s defense, scolding their peers for not letting him live his life.

Honestly, from what I know of the group, I would’ve expected Harry Styles to be the first to take a break from Twitter. Harry’s been in the press the most of the five boys, for his alleged relationship with 32-year-old Caroline Flack and other controversies. He recently told radio station The End,

“There are people that are not our fans that make you wanna do better. But to be honest it’s all about the fans. You’re not there for the people that don’t like you; you’re there for the people that do like you. We love having the fans, they’re incredible so everything we do is for them.”

And yet, he hasn’t even acknowledged Zayn’s decision on his Twitter. Still, maybe they’re all saving their energy for tomorrow’s big announcement. For now, I’m gonna leave you with what I imagine Zayn’s response to all the haters is:
