Although the internet experienced a brief heart attack earlier today when we learned that Robert Downey Jr. had sprained his ankle on the set of Iron Man 3, all was well and the pendulum swung back the other way with good news: Marvel and Disney announced that The Avengers 2‘s official release date is May 1, 2015!
If you can believe it, it’s been a whole two days since I last thought about The Avengers. And really, I was cheating because I was watching Joss Whedon be hilarious on Husbands season 2. Suffice to say, it’s always in my thoughts, and the same should go for you. And with 988 days until the release… shit, that’s a long fucking time. OK, let’s just dive right into the .gif appreciation party, because it’s gonna take a lot to tide us over til then.
I didn’t even include screenshots (excepting the Science Boyfriends image above) because there’s so much out there. Today, we’re going to enjoy .gifs from the movie itself, as well as the cast being too adorable for words on-set and during the press tour. You’ve got Robert Downey Jr. basically embodying Tony Stark no matter what he does, and especially when he and Mark Ruffalo are gushing about each other. But then there’s also the Chris Hemsworth/Tom Hiddleston bromance… Really, all of these men love each other, and that’s just about the sweetest thing I’ve seen this year.
