Can You Guess Why Channing Tatum Has Such Better Chemistry With His 10 Years Co-Star Than He Did With Cody Horn In Magic Mike?

The answer’s pretty easy: Channing Tatum‘s real-life wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum plays his on-screen spouse in 10 Years, your typical movie about a bunch of high school buds who’ve grown apart in the decade since graduation. But of course, when they all meet up for the reunion, old resentments flare up, and Channing’s high-school girlfriend Rosario Dawson returns. See, Jenna plays one of the characters who’s an outsider to this formerly tight-knit group, and though she wants to be nice and let Channing and Rosario catch up, it becomes clear that he may still have feelings for his first love.

Channing and Jenna have had amazing chemistry from the start, when they starred in Step Up back in 2006. That easy on-screen rapport is what made the movie such a surprise success. As far as I know, they haven’t appeared together in any project until now, which is probably for the best. Then again, it means that we get to see Channing have lackluster chemistry with other ladies, like Cody Horn in Magic Mike. I mean, they definitely had their moments of sparks, especially at the end of the movie. But it’s also really sweet to see Jenna and Channing still so in love six years later, and especially as their marriage is threatened by his past.

10 Years boasts a pretty impressive cast including Chris Pratt, Kate Mara, Ari Graynor, Justin Long, Aubrey Plaza, and Anthony Mackie. So, you have to imagine that it can’t be too awful if this many talented actors decided to be part of it.
