Josh Hutcherson is making charity so sexy. You can’t turn around without encountering yet another story about him playing some sport in the name of disadvantaged kids. It was at a celebrity basketball tournament benefiting the LGBT organization Straight But Not Narrow that Josh revealed his newly-blonde Peeta Mellark hair; and now he’s popped up again, this time playing kickball! (Which makes him even more legit.)

As we know, Josh is bulking up to play Peeta in Catching Fire; he recently told USA Today, “After the Games, Peeta would have been taking care of himself physically. And he’s gone back to the village and is able to eat healthy. So I’ve been training and getting ready for that.” So really, it sounds like the kickball game is actually time for Josh to take things down a notch and relax. The game was part of the charity Rising Stars of America, which seeks to match kids with positive role models who will instill ethical and social values in them. Or as we see it, making sure these kids never end up getting reaped for their own Hunger Games.

Check out Josh in action! Now, I’m going to point out that he’s carrying a football, which is not the typical ball of choice for kickball, unless things have changed since I was in grade school in the ’90s. Then again, a football more resembles a loaf of bread… so maybe Josh is just staying in-character as much as possible.
