Signs that Reddit is becoming more and more mainstream: Now you can find celebrity blind items there! Crazy Days and Nights’ Enty Lawyer found this fascinating post in Reddit’s r/unsentletters: A letter from a Redditor named peopleshouldknow addressed to an unnamed celebrity who she alleges to have dated and who apparently emotionally and physically abused her. “Your fans should know some things about you,” it begins, and she proceeds to rail against this entertainer for hating his mother and locking her (the Redditor) in a closet and threatening to cut her with scissors.
She keeps most of the details vague and coyly won’t answer Redditors’ guesses in the comments, for fear of revealing her identity and that of the guy in question. Except for the end of her letter, in which she includes one of the more memorable quotes from a major summer blockbuster that came out less than a month ago:
I was endlessly forgiving, justifying of your behavior. I allowed you to belittle me in front of our friends, use me, take over my home, and alienate me from all my friends.
Here’s a quote I’m sure you know:
“You see, it’s the slow knife, the knife that takes its time, the knife that waits years without forgetting, then slips quietly between the bones. That’s the knife that cuts deepest.”
Life will be your knife, the karma of everything you’ve done with viscous intent to others. It will eventually happen, whatever it is that finally happens to bad people like you. You fancy yourself a good guy, but you fool only yourself. You are the villain.
Yep, that quote comes from The Dark Knight Rises, which means everyone thinks the mystery man is Christian Bale. And if it were true, would we really be surprised? The actor has rage issues that we’ve seen blow up in the media, from his infamous tirade directed at a DP on the set of Terminator: Salvation, which was recorded and distributed; to the fight with his mother and sister in 2008 that has them permanently estranged. The accusations in the blind item certainly seem to match the other incidents where he’s lost control.
Of course, assuming it’s Bale is assuming that the Redditor is telling the truth. So who could she be? He’s been married to Sibi Blažić since 2000; not much is known about who he was in relationships with prior to then, though his ex-assistant claims he dated Winona Ryder and Anna Friel in the ’90s. Are we to believe that it’s any of these three women, or someone claiming to be his mistress? Like most blind items, we’re basing our discussion on several uncertain factors.
Every time I talk about Christian Bale, I can’t resist posting this video:
