So yesterday we shared the exciting news that Jennifer Lawrence would be making ten million dollars for playing Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire. Which is awesome, because not only did she do a kickass job in The Hunger Games, but she’s also now an in-demand actress who I believe is slated to star in 73% of films premiering in 2013.
Apparently while I blasted girl power music (sponsored by the Spice Girls hits of the ’90s) and danced around in celebration that she got a $9,500,000 pay increase, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson called their agents to complain.
You see, Peeta and Gale want more money too. Five million dollars each to be exact. Which wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t being reported by Radar Online as a contentious jealousy-fueled rage filled with threats and other horrible words that don’t fit into the Jennifer Lawrence/Josh Hutcherson/Liam Hemsworth best friendship that I have pictured in my head.
I imagine them all hanging out on and off the set, building up that magical chemistry that will get translated to screen in Catching Fire, Mockingjay: Part 1and Mockingjay: Part 2. So it hurts when I hear that Liam and Josh are threatening not to return to the movie if they don’t get their raise.
How could they abandon our gal pal Jennifer Lawrence like that?! How can they abandon us?!
While we know they’ll get their raises and while we know that they’ll film Catching Fire, we also now know that they’re not all exchanging friendship bracelets and inside jokes via Gchat stauses like we thought. They’re regular co-workers who demand fair treatment from their boss. Ugh, isn’t the worse when celebrities are just like us?
