What with all the tag teaming of Dustin Diamond that Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan have been doing together lately, it was only a matter of time before Gaga cemented their friendship by offering to use her star power help revive LiLo’s flagging career. And what better way to do that than by promising to stick her in a new video for a song off her unpretentiously titled new album ARTPOP?
According to The New York Post, Gaga is planning to cast her new pal in a starring role in an upcoming music video. “Due to Gaga’s superstar status, this would be Lindsay’s biggest [role] by far in many, many years,” a source told The Post. I don’t know, I think that music video for Florida bro-rock band Miggs where she pretended to be Banksy was pretty major.
Not everyone is thrilled with the decision, with “one observer” saying “Why this huge artist — who could literally have anyone she wants — chose someone currently at the bottom of the Hollywood food chain remains a mystery.” A quick glance at Twitter reveals at least some fan misgivings.
Although LiLo’s toxic brand/unreliability tends to pollute every project she takes on these days, her particular brand of cautionary tale might work well with Lady Gaga’s vague critique of fame, especially if she shows off her bad plastic surgery. But seeing as the two are friends now, it probably won’t be as interesting as all that.
