Call Him ‘Big Tweet Richie’: Joe Manganiello Caught In Twitter Four-Way With Octavia Spencer, Yvette Nicole Brown, And Retta

Joe Manganiello has very smartly leveraged himself so that his fame hits the sweet spot between the release of Magic Mike and promoting his day job True Blood at San Diego Comic Con last weekend. With the planets aligning like that, it’s no surprise that Joe caused a stir over Twitter—but instead of his normal fans bickering, he inspired a three-way catfight among several respected celebrities! Of course, it was all in good fun, and it really was fun to see Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Retta (Parks and Recreation), and, unbelievably, Octavia Spencer (The Help) teasing each other through escalating tweets.

Yeah, that’s about all the context you need. (Tweets via Entertainment Weekly.) Make sure you stick through to the end to see Joe try and bring back peace among his famous fans.

I love seeing celebrities acting like normal people who tease each other about their fantasy boyfriends. And especially once Octavia joined the fight! It’s totally unfair, but I hold Oscar winners to a higher standard than sitcom actors, so to see her quoting Adele and reminiscing on her time in Spider-Man with “Joey” makes the whole fake-feud even funnier. Of course, this is the woman who said that her first post-awards gift to herself would be a boob lift, so we should be used to her candor. She recently tweeted to Matthew McConaughey, LOL i can be a barkeep in #magicmike2. Yes, we say. Yes.
