This is a lesson for all women out there who want to marry hot actor/models that are closer in age to their children than them. Don’t. Unless you want to end up as lonely and restraining-ordered as poor Demi Moore. As you may have heard, her three normally-named daughters aren’t speaking to her. Rumer, Scout and Tallulah are sick and tired of her needy antics and are even considering a restraining order.
Radar Online reports that the girls just want their mother to stop contacting them.
“Demi has been calling them incessantly and emailing them, leaving them tearful messages and begging them to call her and the girls are sick of it. It is a really drastic measure and not something they are considering lightly but they just feel like they want some peace and quiet.”
I must admit that this sounds a little middle school of them (Mom, don’t get out of your car at the mall. Just sit in the parking lot and I’ll come out when I’m ready. Seriously if you wait outside the car, I’ll die. I will just keel over and die), but drastic times call for drastic measures. Or so I heard. My mom never married Ashton Kutcher, went to wild swinger parties with Ashton Kutcher, divorced Ashton Kutcher, went to rehab and then incessantly contacted me for months. So what do I know?
Well, glad I asked myself that, because according to even more Radar Online reports, I know a lot more than I should about this intimate family problem. Like the fact that this whole silent treatment issue stems from the fact that the girls are unwilling to cut former stepdad Ashton Kutcher out of their lives.
Ashton has remained active in the lives of all of his step-daughters, attending concerts that they’ve performed in and supporting them through their mother’s substance abuse troubles, and this has caused Demi to become enraged with her daughters. “She doesn’t understand how they could stay close with Ashton after he humiliated her and she’s asked them to stop talking with him but they refuse,” the friend said.
So yeah, that’s awkward. For everyone involved. Despite being a self-licensed child celebrity expert, I’m not sure what the right answer is in this situation. On one hand, Ashton should take the high road and step back until Demi and her daughters can reconcile. On the other hand, I can’t imagine what it’s like to deal with a mother who not only went to rehab, but also didn’t seem to completely recover.
The only suggestion I can make is that Bruce Willis take over Ashton’s supportive father role. You know, since he is the father. He should be comforting his girls through this difficult time. I think.
But once again, this situation is so foreign to me that all I can say for sure is that this is why you shouldn’t marry a super cool and super hot guy when your daughters are teenagers. Stick to old, balding dudes. Like Bruce Willis.
