The D-list celeb-o-sphere has been abuzz for the past few days over some photos of Kris Jenner looking suspiciously puffy while on vacation with her family in the Dominican Republic. Of course, “suspiciously” implies she doesn’t want anyone to know she’s had work done, which might not be the case, but whatevs. As you can see, the swelling is centered around her top lip, while the bottom on looks fairly normal. This screams plastic surgery to me, but I’m not a doctor, so I asked board certified cosmetic physician Dr. Susan Tanne what she thinks is up with Kris’ face.
Her reply? She definitely thinks it’s plastic surgery, but the swelling could have been caused by one of a few different things:
It is possible that she had an allergic reaction from the anesthetics; However– to me it seems she is most likely to have had a permanent surgical implant put into her lips or she may have had too much injectable filler put in to her lip. Most fillers do not cause this type of swelling. If this is of hyaluronic acid, a gel used to augment the lips, there is an enzyme called hyaluronidase that reduces the amount of filler. Cold packs and ice packs help to reduce the swelling. I would put her on micro dose of prednisone. If that does not take down swelling, then it is either an implant too large or too much injected product. Then I would recommend using the hyaluronidase to reduce the volume of the filler.
So there you have it: in her intrepid quest for eternal youth and beauty, Kris Jenner may have flown a little too close to the sun, and should remove some of the gunk from her face before she ends up like Tobias Funke in that hair transplant episode of Arrested Development. I hope you are now able to sleep at night with this very important issue resolved.
