Last night on The Late Show With David Letterman, Channing Tatum continued his late night rounds to promote movie-of-the-year Magic Mike. He talked about the film (duh), stripping (duh), and what it takes to survive in the jungle (ripped abs and a rakish grin!), but the best part was definitely when Dave asked him to pull out his Matthew McConaughey impression.
Ever the coy one, Channing demurred at first, saying he was “not in the pantheon of Matt Damon” (about whose Matt McConaughey impression much epic poetry has been written), but it didn’t take long for him to change his mind, because Channing Tatum wants us to be happy (and also because he’s been practicing for quite some time). I also liked how he made a Matthew McConaughey face while he was doing it, because nothing conjures up that sandy-blonde master of shirtlessness like a squinty wink and a sly smile.
What adorable thing will Channing Tatum do on TV next?? You can bet I’ll be keeping an eye out for you.
