Mindy was only 24 when she became the first and only female writer (of a team of eight writers) for The Office. She eventually evolved from writer status to actor status with her portrayal of the character Kelly Kapoor.
She continues to write, and has even produced and directed some episodes, too.

She's called Novak both her best friend and her mortal enemy -- sounds like any other BFF relationship to me.

Quite a mouthful, so it only makes sense that she'd shorten it up a bit. If only we could get Zach Galifianakis to do the same.

Mindy's mom was living in Nigeria when she was preggers with her, and American TV was limited. The only show that her parents could get was Mork & Mindy, and because of this, her middle name was taken from the quirky series about an alien who comes down to earth and woos a human.

Along with her acting and writing for television, Mindy also released a series of essays last year called Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns). Just like Mindy, it's funny and witty, and will make you cry from laughing so hard.
I'll say it again: the gal is brilliant.
