Emma Watson Is Now An Expert In Sexy Dancing And American Accents Thanks To Her Two New Movies

Emma Watson Rocky Horror Picture Show dance The Perks of Being a Wallflower The Bling Ring American accent

I haven’t read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, so it came as a surprise to me when I saw the trailer on Sunday night and got a glimpse of star Emma Watson strutting her stuff in a Rocky Horror Picture Show dance sequence. She looks great in the corset, heels, and feather boa — very Manic Pixie Dream Girl — but she confessed to E! Online that that was one of the most nerve-wracking parts of the shoot for her. “I was very nervous to that stuff,” she said. “It was tough.”

She also angsted over perfecting her American accent… which, according to Crushable’s commenters, came through as disappointingly uneven. “I really wanted to get that right,” Emma said. “But Logan [Lerman] and Ezra [Miller] were very instructive. If I ever said anything that sounded weird, they were like, ‘That’s not right!’ and we would fix it.”

To be sure, these are both challenging things for a young woman who’s played the relatively straight-laced, obviously British Hermione Granger for ten years. But what I found interesting is that she’s had plenty of practice dancing and speaking in a Valley Girl accent in both of her upcoming projects: She plays a trashy Hollywood robber in Sofia Coppola‘s The Bling Ring. Emma’s been tweeting photos of her wearing velour jumpsuits, Uggs, and leather jackets over bikini tops. And if you would believe it, she’s even taken pole-dancing lessons! Not for any dance sequence that we can tell, but because she needed something to do on-set.

As they say, practice makes perfect. So it sounds like Emma’s pretty set for any future movies that require her to be an American girl who likes to get down.

Her accent was very good. Your “readers” who didn’t like it happens to run a Watson hate site. She or he wrote the same thing everywhere he/she could.

Her accent isn’t very good. It could be MUCH better.

It’s a pretty bad accent, tbh. It’s shaky. There are actors like Carey Mulligan and Mia Wak-something (the Alice in Wonderland girl), who can nail it, so why can’t Emma?

Her accent may be shaky in some spots, but it’s not terrible like some people are saying. I read a lot of reviews from fans and non-fans. Th MAJORITY think that she did a good job on her accent. Some people thought it was alright, some thought it was bad, and some thought it was flawless.

I think her accent is bordering on great. A few things she needs to work on, but on a whole, it doesn’t deserve the “terrible” grade a few have given her. TROLLS!

I love Emma Watson, but I’m not going to say she has a good American accent just because I think she’s great. I’m sure once the movie comes out and people have to watch it for an extended period of time it will be less defendable. It is just not good enough at all. I saw another poster say “uneven” and I think thats a really good way to describe it. Still love the book and Emma.
