Until I heard the news about Pretty Little Liars getting released on DVD on June 5, I kept my favorite guilty pleasure to myself. As a huge PLL fan who’s watched religiously for two seasons, I never really discussed the show with my friends before. Maybe the secrecy of the characters got to me.
But now that I’m counting up my cash for the DVD, I’m getting so excited about rewatching Season 2 that I can’t keep my love of the show to myself anymore!
I apologize if I’m coming off a bit strong, but I’m extremely defensive when it comes to my guilty pleasures. I could fill you in on the time during my sophomore year of high school, when I got into an incredibly heated argument trying to defend the Twilight series. But, I’m not ready to share that with you. Not yet. No, the main focus right now is Pretty Little Liars.
If you don’t know already, PLL (as all the fans call it) centers around four 16-year-old girlfriends: Hanna Marin, Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery and Emily Fields, who attempt to deal with the mysterious murder of their best friend Allison DiLaurentis. But they struggle to move beyond her death when they start receiving cryptic messages (mostly via text) from someone named A.
Season 1 blew my mind with its nonstop “A” texting drama. So many clues regarding Allison’s death leaked out and brought the girls closer and closer to discovering Allison’s mysterious past. And just when I thought the show couldn’t get any better, Season 2 put the “d” in drama. It also put the “d” in darker. After two full seasons, A’s identity was finally revealed, and but not before many more scandalous plotlines unfolded.
The show’s ability to keep me on the edge of my seat during every episode should prove to you just how amazing it can be. So on the slight chance you’re not already convinced you need to buy the Season 2 DVD, let me give you one more major reason: special features!
From exclusive interviews with the Men of Mystery from Rosewood (back off, Ezra is mine) to interviews with costume designer Mandi Line to deleted scenes, the Pretty Little Liars Season 2 DVD has everything a fan could want—and probably more!
