Drew Barrymore and art consultant Will Kopelman are getting married tonight, and I’m starting to get nervous that my invitation got lost in the mail. The wedding is supposed to take place in an intimate ceremony at Drew’s house in Montecito, California, and I’m thinking if they call in the next forty-five minutes, I can hop a flight and get there just in time.
Drew’s been documented in the past few days making last-minute preparations, including going to her final dress fitting with her best friend Cameron Diaz to get her baby-bump-friendly, custom-made gown looking absolutely perfect. Drew will be having her hair and make-up done on-site, and the gown itself was designed by Chanel. Which makes total sense, because Will’s father used to be their CEO, apparently. Must be nice.
There have been tents set up on the property since Friday, and street outside of Drew’s estate has been officially blocked off from traffic beginning at 8:00am this morning and extending to 1:00am Sunday morning. Sigh. That really makes me feel like I already missed some sort of pre-wedding brunch this morning. I do love a brunch. No official word yet on who all will be in attendance, but it’s supposedly just an intimate group of family and friends, so I suppose I shouldn’t be too offended.
One person who will almost certainly be giving a toast, however, is Jimmy Fallon, who, in addition to starring with Drew in the work of art that was Fever Pitch, is also married to her production company partner, Nancy Juvonen. I guess he’s a good choice. He’ll be funny and tasteful, and knows about their relationship. I just feel like I’d have a lot to add. Oh man, I just really feel like a mistake’s been made somewhere in my lack of invitation.
I’m gonna go re-check my mailbox.
