We’ve been writing about Honey Boo Boo Child – a.k.a. Alana Thompson, the breakout star of this season of Toddlers & Tiaras – for months now, so it’s shocking that only now has she signed a reality show. Unwilling to lose another pint-sized pageant star to Logo, TLC is holding fast to this strange little creature who sings “A dolla makes me holla” and chugs heart-attack-inducing Go-Go Juice.
Deadline broke the news, including what the show is actually about. Unlike Toddlers & Tiaras‘ retired alum Eden Wood trying to break into the biz, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is about Alana and her clueless mother June Shannon just living their lives:
The series, titled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, is described by the network as “an inside look into Alana’s world where the 6-year-old pageant sensation proves that she is more than just a Go-Go Juice-drinking beauty queen. When she’s not chasing after crowns, Alana’s with her family in rural Georgia doing what her family does best: four-wheeling through mud pits and picking up road kill for the family cookout.”
That’s the actual summary. See, we had our reservations about Eden’s World, the Logo series following T&T‘s other blonde pageant queen: We cringed when Eden’s mother egged her on to sing “Cutie Patootie” in front of a music exec who just didn’t care. But whereas she’ll need therapy in the next decade, Honey Boo Boo Child and her mother are just asking for it. Planned or not, these people have given us utter ridiculousness, and we are paying them back with the promise to tune in every week for new quotables and wtf moments.
A refresher course:
