You have to wonder what the world is coming to when one of the most famous pieces of fan fiction gets its own fan fiction. I know, it’s confusing.
After becoming a national sensation that just won’t quit, Fifty Shades of Grey, that was originally Twilight fan fiction, now has its own fans writing their “fiction” based on the best-selling novel. Is this really what the world is coming to? Die hard fans just keep going and going like some sort of deranged Energizer Bunny that results in a never-ending thread of fan fiction upon fan fiction? What happens if a Fifty Shades of Grey fan fiction reaches the notoriety that it did? Then what? Can we expect that fan fiction to then get its own fan fiction? How many more times will I have to write “fan fiction” in this post?
At the moment, there are only a handful of stories that take on Fifty Shades of Grey; however, it’s only been a few months since the book came out, so we’re bound to see several, if not thousands more to follow. It might be safe to assume that by the end of the summer, the world will be taken over by fan fiction for this particular book and civilization, as we know it, just might be hanging in the balance. It might be time to start stocking up on canned goods and bottled water just in case.
What do you think of this whole Fifty Shades of Grey fan fiction thing?
