Taylor Kitsch Is A Beautiful Human Being, It’s Just A Shame He Can’t Act

Poor, poor Taylor Kitsch. So beautiful and so untalented. Why does fate work like that and how did he pull off Tim Riggins so well on Friday Night Lights? Those are two questions I just can’t answer with my mere mortal brain.

The actor’s currently doing his press tour for Battleship and while reviews are saying his performance blows, photos are saying his appearance glows. So he’s a glower and a blower. (Which is something I’m definitely scared to look up on Urban Dictionary.) And while I will not pay to see him act in Battleship after falling asleep in his previous film John Carter, I will gladly stare at all his photos.

Even though his second big screen appearence will most likely not lead to any more acting offers, I don’t think he should give up on his career. He just needs to rethink it. Why be an action star when he can be a model?

A manly model who knows how to throw a football and appear capable of defeating aliens after they land on earth. Need more proof that the man should be a model? Just look at all these photos of his recent press appearances for Battleship.

But he was so good as Tim Riggins, I can’t believe he really sucks that much in this movie. I might have to see it just to know the truth.

Caitlin, You should also watch the latest X-Men movie. He was pretty terrible in that.

      • Jess

Aaaactually the latest X-Men movie was First Class, not Wolverine.

    • Jess

I’ve never seen him in anything but I always mistake him for Paul Walker.

      • Jenni Maier

Classic mistake. Paul Walker also suffers from Taylor Kitsch syndrome. So good looking, so bad at acting.

May you burn in the fires of hell.

I think he is good. I loved Battleship, it’s a fun movie I also enjoyed John Carter, didn’t make me think he was a bad actor. Paul Walker is bad he is like a wood.

      • Natalie Zutter

Have you seen Paul Walker in Joy Ride? Such a ridiculous movie that he was perfectly suited for.

    • Dave franco

I agree. He will always be known as TIM RIGGINS. And he’s made bad decisions in taking two big roles this early in his career… If you wanna see a young actor who has potential, Francois Arnaud in The Borgias.

      • Roger

Agree, Canada has a group of excellent young actors: Francois Arnaud is one of them. Marc-André Grondin and Dave Alvarez are next. Also Britain with Andrew Garfield and Jamie Bell, France with Gregoire Leprince-Ringuet and Sweden with Bill Skarsgard -Ironic here-

Couldn’t disagree more. You can’t be as good as he was in FNL without being able to act. I haven’t seen Battleship, but plenty of reviews are saying he was just fine in it.

Maybe I’m crazy, but clearly I don’t understand why many of Taylo Kitsch’s defenders put Tim Riggin as a proof of his “talent”. I clearly don’t undestand

I love Friday Night Lights, and I’m 100% sure to say his performance as Tim Riggins isn’t exactly result of his “talent”. A good screenplay and great direction can make wonders with any average or bad actor. Paul Thomas Anderson-Adam Sandler, Bill Condon-Jennifer Hudson, David Fincher-Justin Timberlake.

If you have the change to watch his filmography, most of his performances are from average to awful. Limited range, zero technique and lack of charisma.

A real actor can make an excellent performance with almost every performance. Take a look with Jamie Bell, he shines even in dreadful films like Jumper and overshadowed the lead in The Eagle; or the female countepart Marion Cotillard, she was the best in show in films like Public Enemies -Overshadowed Johnny Depp and Christian Bale- and Nine and made a compelling performance for a cartoonish role in Inception.

I haven’t seen Friday Night Lights, but I definitely think that the Battleship writers were looking to cast a Tim Riggins character–it’s clear from the absurd “chicken burrito” opening scene. But of course, this character lacked the “heart of gold” aspect other commenters have mentioned.

    • diana!!!

i dont think he’s a bad actor i think it depends on the movie if the movie has a great plot than the actor is gonna look good!!

    • Michele

I fell asleep during John Carter, too! :D

I don’t agree that Taylor is a bad actor. He was amazing in FNL as Tim Riggins! I heard John Carter was awful, but I don’t know if that necessarily had anything to do with his acting, or if it was just a bad movie in general. I have yet to see Battleship, but from the previews I think it looks pretty good. I would never say that Taylor Kitsch is a bad actor, he was also fantastic in The Bang Bang Club, which was a small movie he did. What I think is that he is picking the wrong movies, he is not an action star, he needs to be in movies like FNL or like Bang Bang Club. He plays the bad boy with a heart of gold better than anyone, that’s the type of role he needs to play. That’s the problem, he’s taking the wrong roles it’s not his acting, I’ve thought a lot about this haha

        Let see:

FNL: Roger made an excellent point. Good direction + Good story are an average actor’s best allies. Minka Kelly was fine in FNL and she’s not exactly a versatile actress. Explain me, why is he so special in this? Anyone with a little talent could make his role easily.

-Friday Night Lights: Again, with a good direction, any average actor could succeed. Tim Riggins isn’t exactly a demanding role
-The Convenant: I know, the film is awful. Unfortunally, he was plain and boring.
-Kyle XY: Not a bad guest actor, but not amazing either
-X-Men Wolverine: WTF? Lame, terrible accent, not charismatic enough
-The Bang Bang Club: Overrated performance. Good but nothing outstanding -I still don’t get it why he0s so special with a average performance and erratic accent
-John Carter: Overshadowed by better actors and even in some parts lame.
-Battleship: I recognized I didn’t see the film, but after watching the “burrito scene”, I tend to believe is exactly the same circle

Before anyone would make the “You’re jealous” remark. I’m a bisexual man and I find Taylor really hot -He has a great body-, but his place is in CW or in Abercombrie & Fitch. He’s narrow limited of talent and charismatic as a stone.

And before anyone would make the assumption of “jelaous” remark, I’m a biscxual man and I find Taylor hot -Great body, maybe one of the best I saw in magazines-, but he’s not talented enough and he’s charsiamtic as a dry wall. Better on CW or Abercombrie & Fitch
