Video: Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ Gets The Bad Lip Reading Treatment

Are you sad about the death of Adam Yauch? Yeah, me too. It’s healthy to mourn for a while, but if you’d like something to cheer you up, you could do worse than to watch this ridiculously silly Bad Lip Reading version of Gotye‘s “Somebody That I Used To Know.”

For those not in the know, Bad Lip Reading takes music videos and replaces the boring lyrics with epically silly new ones, which the people actually appear to be saying. (Hence the name “Bad Lip Reading.”) It works especially well with this song, due to its vaguely emo-sogynist self-seriousness. Witness how much better the new first verse is than the old one!

Drab:

Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it’s an ache I still remember

Fab:

That was yet another way of working with the Sith
They’re greasy little freaks who hide pickles in the sky
And I know my selfish cuckoo otter fooled me
Miss Fisher don’t think that I’m pretty
But I would stuff a sixty cent nacho in my book
