As part of their ongoing efforts to prove they’re edgier than all the other boy bands, The Wanted have issued a bitchy non-apology for their intense throwing of shade on Christina Aguilera, even going so far as to essentially double down and call her a rude bitch all over again. Now, that’s commitment!
When badgered by TMZ earlier today for comment on the whole kerfuffle, Tom Parker (a.k.a Frankie Muniz) allowed that “we shouldn’t have said it, to be honest with you,” and then said, without even taking a new breath: “We just think manners cost nothing, you know what I mean?” (The whole blustery video is here.) Indeed they do not.
You have to hand it to them: even though Christina Aguilera has been ignoring their efforts thus far, these kids are not backing down from this one-sided fight. Have they been coached in attention-generating douchebaggery by their handlers, or is this some sort of rogue strategy? Or maybe Christina Aguilera was legitimately mean to them to the point where their sensitive boy band hearts just can’t get over it. I would very much like to see some camera phone footage taken in that room on that fateful day (attention, comedians!), as well as hear their upcoming sad, whiny single about how 90s pop stars need to have more respect for post-millennial ones.
