The cast list for Robot Chicken‘s special poking fun at DC Comics has just been released, and not surprisingly, Seth Green and co. managed to wrangle several beloved cult stars:
[T]he voice cast includes Robot co-creator Seth Green as Batman, Robin and Aquaman; Paul Reubens as The Riddler; Neil Patrick Harris as Two-Face; Alfred Molina as Lex Luthor; Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern; Megan Fox as Lois Lane; and Breckin Meyer as Superman.
Yay for Nathan and Neil! (Until the Dr. Horrible sequel, we’re always going to cheer for quasi-reunions of Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer.) But… Megan Fox? It’s the most surprising inclusion of the bunch, even though she’s not the first mainstream actress to pop onto the show: Amanda Bynes and Mila Kunis are just some of the Hollywood stars who have lent voices to the hilarious stop-motion show.
The choice to include Megan is jarring not because of her mainstream status but because, as The Mary Sue points out, only one female character is mentioned. Lois Lane is great, but what about Catwoman and Wonder Woman? Based on what we know, why didn’t the sole female role go to a more recognizable geek girl? Say, The Guild‘s Felicia Day, Sarah Michelle Gellar, or even Seth’s wife Clare Grant. Of course, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes; and since there’s no release date yet, they could be including more female DC characters as I type.
