The Battleship Movie Should Be A Hungry Hungry Hippos Crossover Like In This Hilarious Fake Poster

Hungry Hungry Hippos fake movie poster Battleship

I’m really worried about Battleship losing all credibility since the first few trailers allude to the fact that it’s aliens who are masterminding this sea battle between aircraft carriers and all the other models in the respective fleets. Or maybe it’s aliens coming out of the water to kill Taylor Kitsch, Liam Neeson, and Rihanna? I really can’t tell. The writers could have gone the conspiracy theory/higher power angle that Cabin in the Woods did, but no, they had to basically do Transformers At Sea.

That’s why I love this fake Hungry Hungry Hippos poster that’s been making the rounds on Facebook. It’s a pretty good Photoshop job of this international Battleship poster, and presents a much more believable villain than aliens we don’t care about. Really, if they’re making Ouija into a horror thriller and Candy Land into a family-friendly adventure starring Adam Sandler, then the studios can afford to look more closely at Hungry Hungry Hippos. That’s the only childhood board game I remember really having stakes, anyway.

Bloody hell! I made that poster to practice Photoshop and only posted it to b3ta after a friend I showed it to thought it was amusing. I sure as hell didn’t expect it to take off like it has done.

@Lord Gnome: At least this, as a movie, would have more to do with the game. (a horde of hungry, mutant hippos) as opposed to Battleship, which, just from the previews has absolutely nothing to do with either the original, the electronic, or even (if it exists.. gotta check) a computer-based version. Kinda like some of Habros’ other ventures.. (remembering the Cabbage-patch dolls, one of Hasbros’ other ventures, were the crash attempt by defunct toy company, Coleco, to salvage themselves for the late-released, bug-plagued, and scarcely-supported ADAM-Bomb. (the Coleco ADAM, was Coleco’s attempt to enter the computer market, versus Mattel’s attempt with the Aquarius) Even though Coleco, nor Hasbro launched a movie about the Cabbage-Patch dolls, there was the cRUDE attempt, the Garbage-Pail kids (After Topps trading cards parody of the dolls)

Even the very funny 80′s film “Clue” based on the board game is being remade. It has come to this..making a remake of a movie based on a board game over making a new movie based on a board game.
