When you first saw Hilary Duff being all cute on Lizzie McGuire, did you ever think she’d grown up into the kind of person who keeps pieces of human organs hidden in her makeup drawer? Actually, maybe you did. There’s a freaky look in those eyes, on closer inspection.
In the May issue of People, Hilary Duff reveals that she had a bit of trouble letting go of her new son Luca‘s umbilical cord, even though umbilical cords look gross sticking out of babies’ belly buttons, and even though she still had all the good parts of the baby:
“You know what was a big milestone? The belly button falling off. That was a huge one. And then I wanted to keep it but my husband was like, ‘No, that’s gross, you can’t keep it!’ I’m like, ‘I’m totally keeping it,’ and I secretly kept it.”
And where, pray tell, does Hilary Duff secretly keep that piece of her baby’s umbilical cord?
“…Now it’s not a secret anymore. It’s in a Ziploc bag in the back of my makeup drawer. Luca’s going to think I’m a freak!”
There are some gross things you don’t tell people, Hilary Duff. Especially when it goes against your personal brand so much. Then again, you’ve dressing your kid up in embarrassing costumes since he was still in utero, so maybe you no longer care about such things.
And if you must insist on keeping it, might I suggest putting it somewhere more secure? You do not want the dog getting a hold of that.
