Even though Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson bonded over White Castle and puking, as long as there are new Hunger Games movies to promote the media will continue to push the “Team Gale vs. Team Peeta” buttons of loyal fans. And lest you think that galleries and blog posts are the worst offenders, there’s now a documentary devoted to this imagined rivalry.
Deadline reports — so you know it’s legit — that Revolver Entertainment is shopping around the documentary Liam vs. Josh: The Heartthrob Games at Cannes, no less. All we know is that it’s an hour long and concerns “the rise of Hunger Games stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.” Revolver has TV rights, so chances are you’ll be seeing it on the small screen rather than the big one.
The groan-inducing title aside, this sounds like such a useless endeavor. All it does is stir up drama where there isn’t any, and reveals the filmmakers to not be genuine fans. Because as much as Hunger Games fans will debate Team Gale vs. Team Peeta vs. Team Katniss (like we did on the Hunger Games Fireside Chat podcast last August), we don’t encourage half-baked stories about the cast.
But once The Heartthrob Games comes to your TV, you can make that choice for yourself. Alternatively, you can just check out our Crushable 25 List For 2012, which has Josh in the #1 spot and Liam not far behind.
