Aubrey Plaza, best known for her role as the could-care-less April on Parks and Recreation, always captures my attention when she’s on screen. Mostly because she appears to not care about capturing it. It’s always like, “look at me, don’t look at me, I don’t care either way. I’m just up here acting.”
And because I live my life with a middle school mindset, this works for me. The less interested you are in my attention, the more I want to give it to you. I’m sure this attitude has something to do with my upbringing and my parents and will be great fodder for a therapy session one day. But until then, Aubrey Plaza has all my attention.
Her upcoming film, Safety Not Guaranteed, follows the story of three jaded Seattle reporters who attempt to get inside of the head of a time traveler who they think is crazy — only to discover he might actually be telling the truth. Think Enchanted, if Enchanted started as a meme and debuted at Sundance. (I know, you were probably already thinking that. We’re always on the same page.)
The film also stars Mark Duplass as Kenneth the zany time traveler and Karan Soni and Jake Johnson as the newspaper reporters. It hits theaters this June and will be a must-see. I can just tell already that it will be a must-see. So just watch the trailer now please.
