This past Thursday Kim Kardashian was flour bombed on the red carpet by a women who was apparently upset with the fact that Kim wears fur, and it looked like the quick dusting might be the end of it. Maybe it could be worked into an SNL sketch where reality TV stars are covered in a variety of baking ingredients until together they could make a cake, but the drama seemed to be over as soon as Kim made a joke about the incident instead of ordering the offender be dragged to the dungeon.
Now it looks like the woman could be in some legal trouble, Kim is thinking about pressing charges, explaining, “I am just going to think about it, because I don’t want someone to think they can really get away with that. So we are going to handle that.”
I have mixed feelings about the fate of the flour-thrower. On the one hand, you shouldn’t go around throwing things at people, especially white powdery things. On the other, it might be in Kim’s best interest (or Kim’s public image’s best interest) to laugh it off.
If the woman is brought up on charges, I hope she grants an interview so we can find out exactly what message she was trying to convey through flour. Animal activists in the past have thrown the pretty unambiguous red paint, but what could white powder be a stand in for, and what substance will they be throwing at the next celebrity wearing fur? I kind of hope it’s peeps; animal-themed and festive.
