We here at Crushable are huge fans of The Office’s crazy-talented writer/actress Mindy Kaling, so when we heard she was getting her own half-hour show on Fox (or at the very least, a pilot for one) we were excited. Now, a few more details have emerged about the show, and we are super excited.
As previously reported, the show will star Kaling as a “young Bridget Jones type doctor trying to navigate both her personal and professional lives.” And now, according to Vulture, she will be joined by The West Wing‘s Richard Schiff, who has signed on to play “a menschy but accomplished OBGYN who is terrible with technology and tells stories about the 60s and 70s.” Hooray!
Additional comedic excellence will come from SNL‘s Bill Hader and Mindy’s The Office buddy Ed Helms, who will play an ex boyfriend and a potential love interest, respectively. So basically, this show is going to rule. Why, it’s almost like the people at Fox read and digested the information in my recent post titled Does TV’s ‘Year Of The Women’ Really Constitute Progress If All The Shows Suck?
