For those of you hoping that Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson would finally collaborate on something, you just got lucky. According to various sources, that are all claiming that they’re “exclusively” reporting this fact, Depp will be making an appearance on Manson’s upcoming album, Born Villain, which is due out on May 1st.
Although the two have been friends for years and Depp’s movie, From Hell featured a remix of Manson’s song “The Nobodies,” the two have decided to move into duet territory. The song, which will be a cover, is sort of an interesting choice and something that might even be considered a classic from the 1970′s. Are you ready?
“You’re So Vain,” by Carly Simon. Yes, that is the song that these two will be performing together on Manson’s album.
I realize that since the song is from 1972, there are many people who have never heard of it. Perhaps, there’s even those of you who have never even heard of Carly Simon! Just to give you a little taster, here are a few lines:
You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye in the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they’d be your partner
They’d be your partner, and…
You’re so vain, you probably think this song is about you
You’re so vain, I’ll bet you think this song is about you
Don’t you? Don’t You?
Now do your best to imagine these two singing this — I’ll give you a moment. Done? OK. Here’s the original song below. Hopefully, it will give you even more fun, yet perplexing images in your head.
