In a new interview with The New York Post‘s Page Six Magazine, Elisabeth Moss (a.k.a. Mad Men‘s Peggy Olson) manages to make ex-husband Fred Armisen sound like a total sociopath in just a few sentences.
When the writer asked Moss about her 11-month marriage to, and subsequent divorce from, the SNL comedian, this happened:
“It’s so hard to talk about,” she says, growing quiet.
“One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, ‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.’ To me, that sums it up.”
She leans forward, chin in hands and brow furrowed, as she confides all this in a low, measured near-whisper.
“And I think that’s…that’s it,” she says, releasing a drawn-out giggle-sigh. “I’ve never told anyone that. And I don’t want to waste any more of my life talking about it.”
So does she keep in touch with Armisen?
“Oh, God, no,” she answers quickly.
You know who else’s greatest impersonation was of a normal person? Charles Manson. If I didn’t know better, I’d think Armisen was killing people and wearing their skins as suits in his spare time (perhaps he is). But as likable and normal as she seems in this interview, I must admit I take everything Moss says with a grain of salt, because she’s a Scientologist and that shit is the craziness.
And is it just me, or are the photos a wee bit awkward? Maybe I’m just used to seeing her as Peggy, but they come off a little bit “hey, look, Elisabeth Moss has boobs!”
