Lana Del Rey‘s seemingly infinite viral potential has spawned a variety of memes, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen one this good. In an homage to her duck-like lips and questionable singing skills, someone made a special cut of her “Video Games” video in which the sultry singer pouts at the camera like always, then starts singing the song in a horrible Donald Duck voice. All without cracking a smile! The contrast of her self-serious video montage with the beloved Looney Tunes character is too much to take for the song’s entire 4:47, so it cuts off after about a minute. Still: it was a fun minute.
Some of the meaner Youtube comments include “I hear no difference between this and the original” and “finally her real voice! so beautiful.” Whatever you think of LDR’s music, you have to admit this is good for a puerile laugh or two. Maybe next they’ll dub “Born To Die” so that she sounds like Minnie Mouse.
