A Tribute To Severus Snape In Honor Of Alan Rickman’s Birthday

It’s Alan Rickman’s 66th birthday and we’re celebrating the only way we know how, honoring him for his most memorable movie role ever: Severus Snape. It took a special person to bring the complex Harry Potter villain/hero to life and Alan Rickman did the job beautifully. He sold the part of the troubled wizard and guaranteed that an entire generation would come to associate his name with the dark arts, unrequited love and rarely washed hair.

It wa so good up until the end. He never said that quote from the last picture in any article or interview or anything public. Please don’t spread it around any more than it already has been!

  He did. He wrote it in the Empire (UK) magazine special edition for Deathly Hallows pt.2. I personally own this and found his words to be amazing. If you’re going to attempt to correct someone, please make sure you know your facts.

  @Becca Give me a link to the source or a picture of the article he said it in or a video of the interview he said it in and I will gladly admit my mistake and apologize. However I have not been able to find a source for this quote other than fan blogs and those aren’t reliable.

“Too good to be true that he said something so eloquent?” Excuse me, this man is one of the most eloquent out there. Have you even HEARD the things he says in interviews and the way he says them (overlooking the sexy voice, of course)??? I’m ashamed.

@Becca Sigs As Leah said, this quote doesn’t come from Empire at all. Check your own copy. This quote was posted by a *HP fan* on Twitter and retweeted by AR fans, hence the confusion. It’s been misquoted since. Please don’t spread this mistake.
