If you haven’t caught up on your latest edition of Blood Vials Weekly, you’ve probably missed the exciting news that Billy Bob Thornton’s making a movie based on his relationship with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie. The tentatively titled movie, Drove is:
“about ‘a guy who’s on a road trip and picks up this girl along the way, and what happens to them. It’s about the question of life: ‘What is this? Where do I fit in?”‘ An insider said the film is partly inspired by Thornton’s wild and well-documented relationship with ex-wife Angelina Jolie, which Rodnyansky confirmed.”
In case you’ve forgotten, current saint and professional collector of children, Angelina Jolie used to be married to Billy Bob Thornton. Unlike her do-gooder marriage now that’s filled with good deeds and socially-responsible movie making, it was a weird marriage that made headlines for entirely different reasons than her relationship with Brad Pitt. Specifically that the two wore each other’s blood around their necks.
Although a 2008 interview with Entertainment Weekly with Angie cleared that blood vials issue up, kinda:
“It was never a vial anyway. It was like a flower press,” she said. “It was like from a slight cut on your finger and you press your fingerprint in. It was kind of a sweet gesture. I thought it was kind of romantic!
So what exactly will this movie cover? I’m hoping it not only dives into a lot of detail about their quirky marriage, but also offers insight into how she became the powerful woman she is now. It’s getting harder and harder to believe that the woman who’s currently promoting the film In the Land of Blood and Honey once starred in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
Then again, based on the film’s description, I wouldn’t be shocked if Billy Bob Thornton is just spreading this rumor to get hype for his movie. Where Angelina Jolie goes, money follows and he would be PR stupid not to capitalize on the relationship. While he’s at it , he should add in there may or may not be a heroin montage scene. Nothing like a few good rumors to get buzz moving for a movie.
