HBO Cancels Hung, Bored To Death And How To Make It In America

Rejoice! HBO has canceled my least favorite show of all time, which is Hung! Unfortunately, the network also dropped the axe on the charming Bored to Death and the hard-to-have-an-opinion-about How to Make It in America, effectively giving a big middle finger to New York.

Along with news of these cancellations, HBO announced that it’s renewing the Laura Dern vehicle Enlightened for another season. Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Game of Thrones and Treme will all be back next season, while the fate of Curb Your Enthusiasm still hangs in the balance.

And what new shows will the network offer? In addition to Luck which was previewed already, we’ll get shows like Lena Dunham‘s Girls and a new Aaron Sorkin series based on the characters who populate an MSNBC-style cable news show.

Anyway, can we get back to how much I hate Hung? The premise of a male prostitute who services the lonely women of Detroit was flawed from the beginning and the series somehow managed to make it a boring one at that. Good riddance, Thomas Jane‘s penis. Good riddance.
