The boys’ names are a bit more exotic (and spelled normally). Concerning Twilight, Jacob still rules the roost, but Edward didn’t even make the list! Some of these connections may seem more tenuous — that seems to be the case for boys’ names — but we’re pretty sure we know what was influencing these parents.
#3 – Mason
Considering all the Kardashian kraziness this year, I wouldn’t be surprised if parents named their sons after Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick‘s son. Here’s an experiment: Let’s see if Kourt’s next kid makes the baby name list in 2013!
#4 – Liam / #33 – Joshua
The men of The Hunger Games are certainly on the population’s mind! Although we wonder if Jennifer Lawrence would be jealous to discover that she didn’t get the same attention as Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.
#6 – Jayden
It’s not spelled exactly the same, but there’s no doubt that famous celebrity kid Jaden Smith is who these moms and dads looked to.
#81 – Nolan
I wonder if this is in anticipation of Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises, currently filming in NYC and due to come out on July 20, 2012.
#85 – Xavier
Wow, James McAvoy‘s performance in X-Men: First Class was more convincing than we realized.
However, there were several names we’re surprised didn’t make the cut—Willow, Selena, and Adele, to name a few. And Justin was #99… maybe the teens don’t have as much of a chokehold as we thought.
