The scramble for $2 waffle irons at a Walmart kind of looks like the aftermath of a pinata explosion. All the kids are trying to get as many tootsie rolls as possible, and no one cares who gets stepped on.
Like stores across the country Thanksgiving night, a Hollister in New York City had a long line forming outside their doors. Unfortunately the would-be shoppers didn't know this particular Hollister wasn't opening at midnight and wouldn't open its doors until 10a.m. Not able to handle the wait, around 1 a.m. some people broke in and began looting the store, grabbing arm-fulls of cloths and running out. Obviously no explained to them the difference between extreme bargain hunting and shoplifting.

A Walmart in Arizona saw some black Friday bloodshed. To save his grandson from an approaching mob a man put a video game in his pants to carry the kid away from the bloodthirsty shoppers. Assuming he was a shop lifter, the cops tackled the man, causing him to hit his face on the ground and start bleeding. The unprotected grandson also got injured in the midst of the mob. Police claim the injury came about when the man resisted arrest, but either way there had to be some serious clean-up on aisle six.
At an LA Walmart at least twenty people were on the receiving end of a pepper spray blast from a woman who bragged about totting it. While it might have made sense for some of the workers to have the stuff as defense against rabid crowds, this woman was on the offense, trying to trip up as many competitors as possible to get to her Xbox. Maybe she really gets into the games and she thought all her victims were zombies?
A Pink in Chicago closed after the stampede of shoppers they let in when the store opened caused some of the clothes and shoppers to be knocked down to the floor. The store reopened after two hours, but I'm guessing some of the workers might not want to watch Jumanji for a while.
In what might have been the least eventful black Friday headline, gunfire erupted at a shopping center in North Carolina around 2 a.m. black Friday morning, but no one was hit and the gunman weren't captured. For those keeping score pepper spray-20 gunfire-0.
