This year, I’m joining my boyfriend’s family in one of their biggest traditions: Black Friday! It’s the official kick-off of the Christmas season, and starts at 4 a.m. on Thursday morning (or even earlier, gulp), when crowds descend upon the retail stores to shove aside discount signs and lunge for the last half-price iPad. I committed to this months ago, have been psyching myself up for it, and will write about it once I return (hopefully unscathed) on Friday.
But this post isn’t for my fellow Black Friday 2011 adventurers braving the cold outdoor lines at the crack of dawn. This is for the rest of you, bundled in your pajamas and still sleeping off tryptophan from your Thanksgiving feasts, who are going the much more sensible route: Shopping online. Cyber Black Friday has been a thing since 2009, when websites have launched deals to compete with their brick-and-mortar competitors.
We’ve done some searching and located TKTK great online deals that might pique your interest come Friday morning. Although it should be noted that many of the Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister stores around the country will open at midnight and have 101 hot, shirtless guys. If that’s not incentive enough to go in-person, I don’t know what is.
