Oh boy, here’s your grim news of the day: During the filming of Syriana in 2005, George Clooney suffered spinal injuries from a stunt gone wrong that were so severe, he began to have thoughts of suicide. In an interview with Rolling Stone, George laid out the extent of his bad situation:
“I was at a point where I thought, ‘I can’t exist like this. I can’t actually live.’ I was lying in a hospital bed with an IV in my arm, unable to move, having these headaches where it feels like you’re having a stroke, and for a short three-week period, I started to think, ‘I may have to do something drastic about this.’”

Fortunately, George ended up undergoing a successful surgery to heal his spine before he took drastic measures. In the interview, he explains that his method of choice would have been the car-in-the-garage, so the actor could have avoided a mess. Yikes.
George was injured again two years later, when he and then-girlfriend Sarah Larson were in a motorcycle accident in New Jersey. George’s injuries were less severe this time around, but you’ve got to wonder what the guy was doing on a bike. Once a risk taker, always a risk taker?
