With Bravo abruptly firing four of its Real Housewives of New York cast members, it makes sense that Jacqueline Laurita would want to beat the network to the punch. Earlier this week, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star sent out a bevy of vague tweets hinting that conflicts on the show — with the other Housewives or with Bravo, we can’t tell which — makes her want to leave.
In reverse chronological order, for your enjoyment:
Now a source tells People that Jacqueline has already quit, despite the fact that when she tweeted from Posche (a fashion boutique that’s been featured in the last few seasons) Bravo was already shooting season 4. The source also says that no one was expecting Jacqueline to show up to the season 3 reunion anyway; so there was no point to her announcing it so dramatically over Twitter.
We’re not surprised that she’s worried about her future on RHONJ; unfortunately, she has kind of become the Cindy Barshop of the show. She was always presented as an ally of one of the Housewives — first Danielle Staub, then Teresa Giudice – and even though her daughter Ashley Holmes is the most addictive brat to watch, Jacqueline herself hasn’t done much this season.
In fact, she hasn’t even had any real enemies this season. Judging from the responses to Jacqueline’s tweets, it seems like her fans believe she was talking about Teresa, but then Teresa tweeted this:
I don’t even wanna go there b/c I don’t fight on twitter not w/ fans, not haters, not w/ mean RTs & def not w/ a friend (ahem) or my family!
We’re going to assume that the “ahem” meant Jacqueline, and this is her denial.
Even if Jacqueline’s gone, we know it’s not for good; the lure of reality TV is too great to ever fully divorce it. Jacqueline’s sister-in-law Dina Manzo left the show in 2010, but she’s now starring in HGTV’s upcoming series Dina’s Party.
