Back when Lindsay and Samantha Ronson shocked us by announcing they were dating, the girls got matching heart tattoos... sort of. Lindsay tweaked a white heart she already had between her thumb and index finger by getting it outlined in black, and Sam got one to match.

Then Lindsay got a star to match the ones that Sam already has on her hand.

Lindsay actually has a song called "A Beautiful Life" where she cries about a female God not listening to her and how even though she has bruises her life is still wonderful.

As you'll see in this gallery, Lindsay has a skewed view of what a good life is.

Lindsay told Ellen DeGeneres, "I forget to breathe sometimes," so she got a reminder etched on her wrist in white ink. She probably meant it to sound like she was just so busy, but of course being Lindsay it sounded like she was drunk.

One morning at 2 a.m., Lindsay and Lily Allen got matching "shhh" tattoos on their fingers. Thing is, Rihanna already made this cool. So was this a tribute, or two drunken girls thinking they'd come up with a cool image? The world may never know.

Obviously 7 is the number meant to bring luck, so we can assume LiLo was trying to bring some good karma into her life when she got this one. However, it also signifies infinity in religions like Christianity, and there are seven reincarnations in Hinduism, so perhaps she was trying for career longevity.

Lindsay obviously doesn't share Megan Fox's opinion that Marilyn Monroe was a negative influence, since she got one of the star's quotes on her arm: "I restore myself when I'm alone." (It's surrounded by blue, yellow, and green stars.) Then again, we've always known she was a more hardcore Marilyn fan, since she recreated the actress' nude photoshoot a few years ago.

Before going to jail last year, Lindsay got this bizarre white tattoo on her arm. She claims it's the outline of a little girl with her eyes closed, but to us it looks kinda like Hello Kitty. It's also unfinished; no word on if she returned to the tattoo parlor after getting out.

LiLo's newest tat seems to be weird timing: The lyrics from "I Go to Extremes" read Clear as a crystal sharp as a knife / I feel like I'm in the prime of my life. Apparently lasting a week without going on a coke bender and whining about defamation suits is the prime of her life.
