Is Liam Neeson Reprising His Role from ‘Batman Begins’ in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’?

According to HitFix, Liam Neeson was spotted on the set of The Dark Knight Rises on Monday, shooting a scene as his character from the first movie, Ra’s al Ghul. The thing is, Ra’s was presumed dead at the end of the first movie, after his big showdown with former protege Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) on a speeding train ends with Batman jumping off and Ra’s careening to his death.

There’s a chance that Neeson was just filming flashback scenes, especially because his betrayal came as an utter shock to Bruce in the first movie. Ra’s is a well-known character in the comics, however, and has been resurrected at least once: The Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul saw the villain transfer his consciousness into a new body in order to survive an assassination attempt by his daughters.

Speaking of — Talia al Ghul is rumored to be a prominent antagonist showing up in The Dark Knight Rises, which would be exciting because not only is she Ra’s offspring, but she’s Batman’s love interest in the comics. For a while we thought that Marion Cotillard would play her, though the actress has been listed as a Wayne Enterprises board member named Miranda Tate. Could still be a cover, though, especially because before she turned to the good side, she was still doing Daddy’s bidding…
