8 New Summer TV Shows to Watch Out For

5) Franklin and Bash
TNT has been marketing this new show pretty hard. Starring Breckin Meyer as Jared Franklin and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Peter Bash, this show promises to take everything you know about legal dramas and turn it all on its head. Fans of Saved by the Bell and Clueless will undoubtedly want to tune in. Franklin and Bash premiered on TNT on Wednesday, June 1 at 9pm and will continue to air all summer.

6) Outcasts
Outcasts originally aired in Britain over February and March this year, and this summer, it heads to BBC America so those of us across the pond can take a look. Set in the year 2040, the show follows a group of colonists trying to make a new home for themselves on the planet Carpathia after escaping a nuclear war back on Earth. The colonists have very little idea what’s happened to Earth in the years since they’ve arrived, and with what is quite possibly the last transport to make it out to them from their home planet, it looks like they’re on their own from here on out. What I’ve heard about it sort of makes me think that it’ll be a combination of Earth 2 and Lost, but we’ll see whether or not I’m right when it premieres. Outcasts hits BBC America on Saturday, June 19 at 9pm.
