Crushable Quotable: Tracy Morgan Apologizes for Homophobic Remarks

Tracy Morgan update: the comedian has apologized for the hateful homophobic remarks he unleashed last weekend. Tracy’s statement reads:

“I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville. I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”

Does that go far enough? We’re leaning towards thinking that nothing short of a time machine could really make this situation blow over. Hate’s super funny, though!

    Perfect apology.

It’s not very nice to lash out at a whole group of people. But it’s also a bit narrowminded to think that everyone should feel the same about certain lifestyles. He is entitled to his opinion.
Should Gwyneth Paltrow apologize to Jews & Christians for inferring that the book of Leviticus is nonsense? Does that also mean she supports the other things that Leviticus condemns (like beastiality)??

      Are you kidding me?

Your comment is pretty disgraceful. Also, I just wanted to point out that “narrowminded” isn’t a word. You need to fit in a hyphen between the ‘w’ and the ‘m’ in order to keep it within the realm of the English language.

I heard the comments, but what was the context? Given that he was doing stand-up (and given that he’s on SNL), is it at all possible that he was mocking people who promote violence towards gays?
