This is amazing: Upon seeing X-Men: First Class, geek scribe Damon Lindelof tweeted, Emma Frost’s THREE mutant powers: Telepathy, Transformation to Solid Diamond and last but not least, Sucking at Acting. While it’s a great putdown, and we’ve never been January Jones fans, I’m surprised that a Hollywood star who’s not an actor would say something negative about another actor.
I’m not disparaging Lindelof at all — in fact, I think it’s refreshing, like when actors openly admit that a given project is a stinker. It’s more realistic to consider that not everyone in Hollywood gets along splendidly. I mean, actor feuds are tabloid fodder; a few weeks ago, Zach Galifianakis called out Jones for being rude to him at a party early in her career. But it’s when you get into the intersection of different spheres of Hollywood that people seem to get more tight-lipped.
My initial reaction was, what if Lindelof, who’s very ensconced in the geek world, ever worked on an X-Men project involving Jones? Then I realized that it’s Damon Lindelof, one of the creators of Lost and the man behind the Cowboys & Aliens screenplay, and he’ll be just fine.
For his part, Lindelof seemed to regret the jibe, writing these tweets in the last day or so:

Don’t worry, Damon — we love you for a lot more than a mean tweet.
