Crushable Quotable: Robert Pattinson Would Be “Terrified” To Lose Best Kiss — Luckily He Doesn’t Have Much Competition

Maybe Reese Witherspoon‘s comments — that her kissing scenes with Robert Pattinson in Water for Elephants were lackluster — are getting to the Twilight star, because he told MTV News that he’s feeling the pressure to nab Best Kiss for the third year in a row at the MTV Movie Awards on June 5.

“It’s almost worse than if you stop winning, like, acting awards or whatever. If you can’t kiss anymore, it’s like, ‘What?! I’m still good at kissing!”

For the last two years, he and co-star/girlfriend Kristen Stewart have won over preteen voters with their steamy human-vampire smooches, perhaps made hotter because Edward won’t let Bella do anything beyond necking. And while it would be great to see Twilight knocked down a peg, 2011 may not be the year for it. Unless — unless one small film about two ladies with serious body issues could rise above the other “meh” nominees to break Edward and Bella’s hold…!

Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1

I remember this scene being sexy in the book, and that was just through words. This part of the movie was just stilted and painfully unnatural.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page, Inception

This was included simply to have five nominees; it’s such a fleeting moment that it hardly counts. You’re swimming through your wildest dreams — we couldn’t have seen something a bit steamier?

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Bella, you don’t ask the boy to kiss you, you just go ahead and do it!

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, Black Swan

If any kiss is going to unseat Twilight, it’s this one, because it’s got real passion behind it. The hottest kiss is one that’s trying to prove something.

For the record, here’s Pattinson’s offering:

Yeah, I think that Black Swan could have him beat. This was an underwhelming kiss; the hottest was in New Moon on Bella’s birthday, when she quirks her eyebrow and tells Edward, “Kiss me” — again, because she’s commanding.
