The Best Movies Based on Kids’ Books

Lisa Cholodenko, director of The Kids are All Right, is in talks to bring the classic kids’ book Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day to the big screen. While some attempts to make films based on kids lit have gone horribly, terribly wrong (see: Where the Wild Things Are) some have managed to translate into classic films, with sometimes questionable messages.
