By this point, most audiences have a pretty good sensibility about reality TV shows not being 100 percent ‘real.’ Episodes are edited and aired out of order, and people often stir up drama or amplify their reactions in order to get more camera time. But when something truly real happens on a reality show, it makes for incredibly compelling television.
