In honor of Free Scoop Day, Ben & Jerry’s has announced a limited-time flavor honoring Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, co-hosts of the unintentionally hilarious (and often boozy) fourth hour of the Today show. Vermont Apple Ice Wine sorbet is inspired by “a crisp autumn day,” according to a Ben & Jerry’s spokesperson. And what can you expect in such a flavor? “This flavor is a tribute to the morning duo that does it all — as delicate as Kathie Lee, as sweet and fruity as Hoda. With a tart nature like the pair, themselves, it’s sure to become one of their Favorite Things!”
The Vermont-based Ben & Jerry’s is great about matching flavors to celebrities. In addition to this sorbet — because Kathie Lee is lactose intolerant — they recently released Late Night Snack, a mix of vanilla bean ice cream, salty caramel swirl, and chocolate-covered potato chips, in honor of Jimmy Fallon. We had an official taste test and decided that while yes, we would gladly eat some while watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, too much and we’d be dealing with stomachaches all night.
