Former Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo has moved on to another reality project. Dina famously left Real Housewives of New Jersey halfway into the second season, because her costar, Danielle Staub, was allegedly conspiring to have Dina’s daughter, Lexi, taken away from her. Even before Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dina appeared on Vh1′s My Big, Fat Fabulous Wedding.
According to Us Magazine, Dina is embarking on a new reality show for HGTV. The show will feature her event planning company, Design Affairs, and will follow the crew as they create lavish and luxurious events at their clients’ homes. HGTV’s general manager, Kathleen French, said, “Dina is an accomplished interior designer and also runs a thriving event planning business–her Real Housewives fans will be surprised to see this side of her.”
I’m not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I loved Dina on Real Housewives of New Jersey, and truly thought the show lost something when Dina quit. But on the other, I’m sorry, but I am really not into HGTV, or any kind of show that focuses on home restoration or event planning. To me, it sounds like something we’ve seen before, on a variety of different networks. The only way I would consider watching it is if it primarily focuses on Dina’s personal life and her relationship with her coworkers.
The show is set to air in September. Do you think you will watch it?
