Questionable Fashion Choices: The BagTV Is Baffling

It’s a bag. It’s a TV. It’s a BAG TV.

This is not a joke. BagTV actually exists. Made by a British company, it’s kind of like a handbag equivalent of the entertainment systems most minivans come equipped with these days: The bag contains a 7-inch TV screen with a DVD and Mpeg player, and a window in the front of the bag allows for easy watching. BagTV’s website recommends that you use it “on the move, on the way to and from work, for holidays, on trains or in the car,” or “at night in bars, and clubs to show off your latest photos, or favourite videos” (yes, “favourite.” BagTV is British, after all). The bags themselves aren’t bad-looking– they come in a variety of colors and finishes, including black, glossy black, red, and a two-toned mash-up of navy and white– but they’re also pretty standard and not really anything to write home about. They can also only play for two and a half hours before needing to recharge, and at £200 a pop– roughly $400– I’m not sure it’s really worth it. Most smartphones can accomplish what BagTV does, and they can do it without making you lug around an entire portable entertainment system (just how heavy is BagTV, anyway? No one seems to know).

What do you think? Would you get a BagTV?

Sorry! This poll is now closed.
